Homeschool Support in Las Vegas
Las Vegas has 116 listed homeschool support programs, from co-ops and drop-off enrichment days to tutoring, testing and curriculum help. 22 of them are listed as free.
Homeschool support in Las Vegas is bigger than most people expect. The programs fall into a few groups: co-ops where parents teach in turns, drop-off enrichment days where a kid takes classes one or two days a week, tutors and learning centers that work around a home schedule, and daytime classes at gyms, studios and museums.
Why daytime matters
Homeschool families get the valley on weekday mornings. Ask a gym, studio or museum whether it runs a homeschool session during school hours; those classes exist, and in my opinion they are the single best perk of homeschooling here. Parks and trails are empty too.
Is a parent expected to teach?
Ask. A co-op and a drop-off program look the same on a website and are completely different in your week. Also ask what ages are actually in the group right now and whether the program follows a curriculum, and which one.
What does it cost?
Of the 116 programs, 22 are listed as free and 60 post a price range. Ask whether there is a yearly fee on top of class fees. 50 say they welcome kids with special needs. 7 of these are in Summerlin; ask where a group actually meets, because the address on the page is not always the classroom.
