Accessibility statement

PlayPivot should work for every parent, whatever device or assistive technology they use. This page says what the site does today, what we know is not there yet, and how to tell us when something gets in your way.

What the site does today

• Skip link. The first Tab press on any page reveals a "Skip to content" link that jumps past the navigation.
• Visible keyboard focus. Every link, button and form field shows a clear outline when you reach it with the keyboard.
• Alt text. Images carry alternative text, and our lint rules flag any image added without it.
• Labelled controls. Icon-only buttons and links in the navigation, footer and Parent Portal carry text labels for screen readers, and form fields are tied to their labels.
• Page language and structure. Pages declare English as their language and use headings in order, so screen readers can move around them.
• Works on a phone. Pages fit a phone screen without sideways scrolling, and text can be zoomed.

What we know is not there yet

• We have not had an outside accessibility audit, and we do not yet run automated accessibility tests on every change.
• Maps and ads come from Google. Their controls are outside our code, and the list view always carries the same information as the map.
• Some listing photos come from the businesses themselves, and their alternative text is the business name rather than a description of the picture.

If any part of PlayPivot is hard to use with a keyboard, a screen reader, zoom or anything else, email help@playpivot.org. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do and what happened. A person reads every message and we reply within a week. If you need something from a listing that you cannot reach on the site, tell us and we will send it to you by email.
