How PlayPivot makes money
By Monica Schoborg, founder. Last updated: October 6, 2026
I want you to know exactly how PlayPivot pays its bills, so you can judge what you see on it. Here is the whole list.
Free for families, always
Searching, saving programs, sending a question to a business and getting The Weekly cost parents nothing. That will not change.
Businesses can claim their listing for free
Any business can claim its listing for free to update its details and answer parents. Premium is an optional paid plan with extra features. A Premium listing can show higher in search results, and whenever it does, it carries a "Premium listing" label. Paying never changes a listing's quality score, and it is not a recommendation from us.
Ads on articles, guides and event pages
Ads may appear on our articles, guides, the weekend roundup and the events calendar pages. They never run on listing or search pages. They are served by Google and labeled "Advertisements". We don't pick the ads, and an ad is not a recommendation.
Sponsored spots say "Sponsored"
If a local business pays for a spot on one of our pages, that spot is labeled "Sponsored" and kept separate from our own lists.
Some links are affiliate links
Some guides and articles have a short list of supplies for that activity, like goggles for swim lessons, with links to Amazon. Those are affiliate links: PlayPivot is part of the Amazon Associates program, and if you buy something through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We don't show Amazon prices or pick one product over another; the links open an Amazon search. Every list says so: "As an Amazon Associate, PlayPivot earns from qualifying purchases."
We never sell parents' personal data
We don't sell or rent your name, email, questions or your child's details to anyone. Our privacy policy lists exactly what we collect and who sees it.
