Key takeaways
- City of Las Vegas winter camp runs Mon-Thu, Dec 21-24 and Dec 28-31, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., ages 5-14. $80 or $120 a week depending on the center, as listed on the city's camps page. Registration is open now, "until full."
- No city camp on Dec 25 or Jan 1, and none on Jan 4. The day before school starts is the hardest day in the valley to cover, and Star Sky Gymnastics is the only provider we found with a Jan 4 camp posted.
- Clark County lists its day camp at $21 a day, ages 6-12, and our events calendar lists it on Dec 21-24 and Dec 28-31.
- Henderson's Battle Born Kids follows the CCSD calendar. Henderson hadn't posted winter dates when we checked, so watch the city's site in early December.
- Star Sky Gymnastics has posted firm dates (Dec 21-23, Dec 28-30 and a one-day camp on Mon Jan 4) if you'd rather do half days than full-day care.

CCSD winter break runs Monday Dec 21 through Monday Jan 4, with kids back in class Tuesday Jan 5. That's two full weeks plus a Monday, and almost no provider covers all of it.
When we checked in October 2026, the City of Las Vegas had already opened registration and posted its exact dates. Most others in the valley had not. If you need full coverage, the useful way to think about this is day by day, because the gaps are specific: Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and especially Monday Jan 4. Most private camps also skip Dec 24 and Dec 31, though the city camp runs both days.
Looking for camps by type instead? The winter break camps guide has rec-center, museum, STEM and sports options and when to book them. This post is the day-by-day plan. For what opens when the rest of the year, see the Las Vegas sign-up calendar.

| Mon Dec 28 - Thu Dec 31 | Second week | City of Las Vegas and Clark County (all four); Star Sky (28-30) |
| Fri Jan 1 | New Year's Day | Nobody. City camps closed |
| Mon Jan 4 | Last day before school | Star Sky only (one-day camp) |
City of Las Vegas: open now, and the only one with firm dates
The city runs winter camp Monday through Thursday, Dec 21-24 and Dec 28-31, and explicitly does not run on Dec 25 or Jan 1.
- Ages 5 to 14 (K through 8th grade)
- 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily
- $120 a week at Becker, Cimarron Rose, Mirabelli and Veterans Memorial
- $80 a week at Doolittle, Dula and Stupak
- Dula runs an adaptive camp for ages 5 to 18, which is the only adaptive winter option we found in the valley
- Days are a mix of arts and crafts, sports, games, music, life skills, nutrition and fitness
Registration is open now and the city says space is limited and advance registration is required. At the $80 a week the city lists for full-day care, the cheaper sites are hard to beat, so they're the ones to claim early. The city doesn't publish a packing list, so ask your center what to send.
Clark County day camp
Clark County Parks & Rec lists day camp at $21 per child per day, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., for ages 6 to 12 (5 if they've completed kindergarten). It's first come, first served, and payment in full reserves the spot.
Centers include Desert Breeze, Helen Meyer, Hollywood, Paradise, Bob Price, Silverado Ranch and Walnut.
Clark County says its day camp runs on CCSD no-school days and winter break, and our events calendar lists it on Dec 21-24 and Dec 28-31, the same weekdays as the city camp. Call 702-455-8200 to ask which centers are open before you count on one.
Henderson: Battle Born Kids
Henderson's break program is Battle Born Kids, ages 5 to 14, weekdays 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at select recreation centers, and it follows the CCSD break calendar.
This year's dates and fees weren't posted when we checked, and the program's page on the city site was not loading in October 2026. Call Henderson Parks and Recreation or check the city's parks and recreation page in early December.
North Las Vegas
Advertisements
North Las Vegas runs camps at SkyView Multi-Generational Center and Silver Mesa Recreation Center. Worth knowing: SkyView moved from YMCA operation to city operation in spring 2026, so older information about it is out of date.
Silver Mesa has run a winter camp in past years; call for this year's rates and ages. December dates weren't posted. Call SkyView at 702-633-2500 or Silver Mesa at 702-633-2550.
YMCA: the most flexible option
The Y's holiday camps take ages 5 to 15, run 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and offer one-day, full-week and daily drop-in options at the Heinrich, Durango Hills and Centennial Hills branches.
Drop-in matters here: it's an easy way to patch Dec 24 and Dec 31 if the city camp is full, since most private week-long camps skip those two days. The Y does publish what to bring: "a healthy lunch, two healthy snacks, swimwear, and weather-appropriate play clothes."
December dates and prices weren't published when we checked. Email childcare@lasvegasymca.org.
Boys & Girls Clubs
The clubs run full-day programming during school breaks at their clubhouses. Pricing varies by clubhouse, so ask your club for its break rate. Call your nearest clubhouse rather than trusting a number online, and ask directly which days they're closed.
Half-day and specialty camps
If you don't need full-day coverage, these are often a better fit for a kid who'd rather do one thing well.
Star Sky Gymnastics is the only private program we found with firm dates posted: Dec 21, 22, 23, Dec 28, 29, 30, and a one-day camp on Monday Jan 4, 2027 (it calls it the CCSD Staff Development Day Camp), ages 5 and up. Full day is 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; half days are 8:30 to noon or 12 to 3:30. Its camp page lists $39 a half day, $70 a full day, $179 a half-day week, $330 a full-day week, with a 10% sibling discount. Note it doesn't run Dec 24 or Dec 31.
Code Ninjas Summerlin lists winter-break camps for ages 5 to 14 at $250 a week for half days, or $225 per camp if you book morning and afternoon. Mornings run 9 to noon, afternoons 12:30 to 3:30. December sessions weren't listed yet.
Several gyms and studios post break camps late. If your child already attends somewhere, call them first. Current students usually get in.
The Jan 4 problem
Monday Jan 4 is a school-break day. The city's camp ends Dec 31. The one provider we found with Jan 4 posted is Star Sky Gymnastics: a one-day camp for ages 5 and up, $70 as listed for a full day (8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) or $39 for a half day. It ends at 3:30, so you'll still need a pickup plan if you work a full day.
Other options, honestly: a YMCA drop-in day if they offer one, a Clark County day camp if their calendar includes it, another gym that posts a late Jan 4 date, or a personal day. If you can only take one day off across the whole break, take that one.
Free things to do during break
The library district runs a free Winter Reading Challenge in January most years, along with free youth events all week at branches across the valley. Museums and indoor play spaces get busy but stay open, and December in Las Vegas is the rare time of year when a park in the middle of the day is pleasant. Our free events feed lists what's on each day.
FAQ
When is winter break for CCSD in 2026? Monday Dec 21, 2026 through Monday Jan 4, 2027. Students return Tuesday Jan 5. That's two full weeks plus the Monday.
How much do winter break camps cost in Las Vegas? City of Las Vegas winter camp is listed at $80 or $120 a week depending on the center, for 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. care. Clark County lists its day camp at $21 a day. Private half-day camps run higher: Star Sky lists $179 for a half-day week.
When does winter break camp registration open? The City of Las Vegas is already open and takes registrations until camps fill. Henderson hadn't posted winter dates when we checked, and most others post their dates between late October and early December.
What about Dec 24, Dec 31 and Jan 4? Dec 24 and Dec 31 are covered by the City of Las Vegas camp and potentially by YMCA drop-in days. For Jan 4, the only posted camp we found is Star Sky Gymnastics' one-day camp (ages 5 and up, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.), so book it early or plan that day yourself.
Is there an adaptive or special-needs winter camp in Las Vegas? The City of Las Vegas runs an adaptive camp at Dula Community Center for ages 5 to 18. It was the only adaptive winter option we found, so call early.
Plan the rest of the year
The winter break camps guide has camps by type, and the Las Vegas sign-up calendar shows what opens when, from spring break to fall sports.
