About the Program
Step Up Dance Academy is a dance studio on Wigwam Parkway in Henderson. It takes dancers from the ages of 2 to 18 and teaches far more than ballet: jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, musical theater, Intro to Latin, cheer/poms and tumbling, plus private lessons.
Classes are grouped by age. Tiny Tots covers Ages 2 to 5, Beginning is Ages 5 to 6, and Level 1 through Level 4 move up from Ages 6 to 8 to Ages 12+. On the first day the teacher watches each dancer to confirm the level, and most kids stay at one level for two years, so do not worry if your child is not moving up every fall.
Tuition climbs as you add weekly class hours, so ask the front desk for the current rate once you know how many classes your dancer wants.
The calendar lines up closely with CCSD. The studio closes for Nevada Day, for Thanksgiving week and for winter break. The building is nut-free.
