About the Program

Ignite Dance Center teaches dance to ages 3 to 18 from two Henderson studios on Horizon Ridge Parkway: the East studio at 70 E. Horizon Ridge (Suite 130) and the West studio at 72 W. Horizon Ridge (Suite 110). The studio plans to bring both under one roof in a larger space at 515 N. Gibson Rd., so confirm which location your child's class meets at when you enroll.

Classes are grouped by age. Ages 3 to 5 start with ballet and tap or hip hop and tumbling. Ages 5 to 8 add ballet on its own and acrobatics. Ages 8 to 10 bring in funky jazz with hip hop and contemporary, and ages 10 and up can take jazz, tap, hip hop, ballet with contemporary, acro and a leaps and turns technique class. Advanced classes are by placement, and a dance team adds competition for dancers who want more.

Tuition is $75 a month for one weekly class at ages 3 to 5, or $150 for two. From age 5 up it starts at $85 a month and reaches $300 a month for six classes a week. Add a $35 yearly registration fee ($10 for each additional child), $105 plus tax per recital costume, and a recital fee paid as two $70 installments. Enrollment is month to month with 30 days' email notice to drop. Free trial classes are offered; call (702) 527-5199.

First Visit Guide

What most dance studios expect. Confirm the details with Ignite Dance Center before you go.

What to bring

  • Leggings or shorts with a fitted top, nothing your child can trip on
  • Bare feet or socks are fine for a trial. Don't buy ballet, tap, or jazz shoes until the studio tells you the exact style and color they want.
  • Hair pulled back, water bottle

Before you go

  • Ask about the dress code before you buy anything.
  • Come early for the waiver and to find the right studio room.
  • Ask how parents watch. Some studios have windows, some have lobby monitors, some are drop-off only.

The first visit

A trial class is normal: warm-up, moving across the floor, and a short routine. The recital and costume fees come months later. Ask when those decisions are due so nothing surprises you.

For sensory-sensitive kids

Mirrors, music, and a room full of kids is a lot at once. Ask if your child can watch a class first, and whether the studio runs smaller classes.
