Club Volleyball Tryouts in Las Vegas: Dates, Costs, and How to Choose (2026)

If your kid came home from PE or a summer clinic hooked on volleyball, the next few weeks matter more than you might think. Club volleyball in Las Vegas doesn't work like rec soccer, where you sign up whenever. For players 14 and under, the whole valley runs on one date: Saturday, October 3, 2026. That's the first day clubs in our USA Volleyball region are allowed to hold 11U through 14U girls' tryouts, and the valley's biggest clubs all use it.

Offers go out fast, and the region's commitment day is the very next morning. A family that starts looking in mid-October will find a lot of this season's club teams already full.

This guide covers the tryout dates each club has posted, what it costs to try out, how age groups work, and the lower-commitment options if club isn't the right fit yet. Every club detail below comes from that club's own tryout page as of September 15, plus PlayPivot's Las Vegas listings. Clubs do change times, so confirm on their site before you drive over.

When are club volleyball tryouts in Las Vegas?

Here's what each club has posted for the 2026-27 season.

BBC Las Vegas Volleyball (southwest valley, 7638 W. Post Rd., near Sunset and Buffalo). Tryouts are Saturday, October 3 at the BBC facility. 14s run 7:30 to 9 a.m., 12s and 13s run 9:30 to 11 a.m., and there's a make-up session for all ages from 1 to 2 p.m. BBC says there's no cost to try out; you register ahead through Team Genius. BBC fields local and travel teams, and its 12s-14s season runs from November 1 to the first week of May. Vegas Aces Volleyball (Henderson, 123 Pancho Via Dr.). Girls' tryouts are also October 3: 12U at 8 a.m., 13U at 10 a.m., 14U at noon. There's a $10 tryout fee payable at the door, and commitment day is October 4. Aces posts that its 15U-18U rosters are already filled, and its boys' rosters for 2026-27 are committed. Next Level Rising VBC (east side, 2960 E. Sunset Rd., Suite 100). October 3 again. Local and regional 12s-14s try out from 8 to 10 a.m., travel 13s-14s from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (there's no 12s travel team), and a make-up session runs 2:30 to 4 p.m. The $20 fee includes a shirt. Dig This! Volleyball Club (northwest). Dig This! runs 14-and-under combines on September 29, October 1, and October 2, then tryouts the morning of October 3. Its 15s-18s tryouts are already done. Practices are spread across the Centennial Hills YMCA, the Heinrich YMCA on Meadows Lane, and the Adelson Educational Campus in Summerlin, which helps if you live in the northwest or west valley. One logistics note: BBC and Next Level are both on Sunset Road, but at opposite ends of the valley, and Aces is out in Henderson. If you're hoping to try more than one club on October 3, check drive times first and use the make-up sessions. Morning slots overlap.

How do volleyball age groups work?

This trips up a lot of families, because club age groups aren't school grades. USA Volleyball uses a July 1 birthdate cutoff for 2026-27:

• 14U: born on or after July 1, 2012
• 13U: born on or after July 1, 2013
• 12U: born on or after July 1, 2014
• 11U: born on or after July 1, 2015

Players can generally play up in an older group, but not down in a younger one. Boys' 12U-14U and some 17U players have grade-based exceptions, so check the age definition chart if your player sits near a line.

What happens on commitment day?

After tryouts, clubs extend offers. In the SCSN region, the first moment an 11U-14U girls' player can sign a Letter of Commitment is 8 a.m. on Sunday, October 4. The region treats that commitment as binding. Players who don't follow its procedures can be suspended for the 2026-27 season.

In practice, that gives you roughly one evening to decide. Before tryouts, write down the questions you need answered: total season fee, how many tournaments, whether any travel is overnight, and practice days and locations. Most clubs post team pricing at or after tryouts rather than online, and "we'll figure out the cost later" is how families end up surprised in January.

How much does club volleyball cost in Las Vegas?

Tryouts are cheap. The season isn't. Few clubs publish full pricing, but Vegas Aces does for its boys' program: roughly $350 a month for six months, plus about $350 per tournament for around eight tournaments. That's a useful reference point for what a travel-level season can run, even though girls' and local-team pricing varies by club and level.

Local teams generally mean fewer and closer tournaments than travel or national teams. If you're new to club, a local or regional team is a reasonable first season. It shows whether your kid loves a season that runs from November into May before you sign up for flights.

What if my kid isn't ready for club yet?

Club isn't the only door in, and for a 9 or 10 year old who has never played, it probably shouldn't be the first one.

City of Las Vegas beginner skills classes. The city is running Volleyball Skills Beginner sessions this October at Mirabelli Community Center on Thursday late afternoons and evenings (Oct. 1-29) and at Doolittle Community Center on Monday evenings (Oct. 5-26). Greater Youth Sports Association runs co-ed volleyball for grades 5 through 7 (roughly ages 9 to 13). Practices are Mondays and Wednesdays, two hours between 5:30 and 8 p.m., at 2900 N. Torrey Pines Dr. It runs fall, winter, spring, and summer seasons, so there's always a next start date. Program page.

Las Vegas Beach Volleyball runs on enrollment rather than tryouts. Its fall season goes September through December, with practices at Sunset Park on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Saturdays. It's aimed at junior high and high school girls, with ages 12 to 18 placed on regional or national teams. Its "Fundamentals for Futures" class on Saturday mornings (10 to 11 a.m.) takes ages 8 to 13. It's All Volleyball (530 E. Pamalyn Ave.) is an indoor sand facility with youth leagues, clinics, open gym, and private lessons. It's rated 4.6 across 125 Google reviews. Several clubs, including T-Street, Top Flight, and Vegas Volley, operate out of the building, so it's also a way to meet clubs beyond the ones listed above.

Does CCSD have school volleyball?

Yes. CCSD middle schools field boys' and girls' volleyball teams, and the season runs in spring, not fall. Last school year, first practices and tryouts started February 23, games began March 9, and championships wrapped April 30. CCSD hasn't posted 2026-27 dates yet. School ball and club can overlap in spring, so if your player does both, ask the club how it handles school-season conflicts before you commit.

How do I choose the right club?

Start with the level, not the logo. Ask yourself three things:

1. How much does your kid want this? A player who has been begging to play all summer can handle a travel commitment. A curious first-timer belongs on a local team, or in a skills class.
2. Where are practices? A club 35 minutes across the valley means that drive twice a week for six months, often in 5 p.m. traffic on the 215. Dig This!'s northwest locations, BBC in the southwest, Next Level on the east side, and Aces in Henderson each make sense for different parts of town.
3. What's the full cost? Get the season fee, tournament count, and uniform costs before commitment day, not after.

A few reviews won't tell you much. Some clubs here have only a handful of Google reviews, which says more about how few families leave reviews for club sports than about quality. Talking to a current team parent at tryouts is worth more than any star rating.
