Toddler and little-kid times

Big kids and toddlers on the same trampolines is the thing most parents worry about, and the parks handle it in different ways. Sky Zone Las Vegas lists a Little Leapers toddler time (it showed Friday 1 to 2 p.m. when we checked). Flip N Out Xtreme sells a Little Flipper pass for kids 4 feet and under, $14 for an hour or $27 for the day, in its own Little Flipper Zone. At Ninja Kidz, kids 2 and under jump free with a paying adult. Go on a weekday morning or early afternoon if you can, before school lets out.

Before you go

  • Grip socks. Every park here requires them. Flip N Out sells them for $5, Ninja Kidz only allows its own, and Sky Zone sells reusable SkySocks. Keep them in the car for next time.
  • Waivers. Sign online before you leave the house; the line at the desk is the slowest part of the visit.
  • Drop-off rules. Sky Zone Summerlin and Ninja Kidz don't let kids under 13 stay without an adult, and after 6 p.m. Sky Zone Summerlin wants an adult 18 or older with anyone 15 and under.
  • CCSD days off. Parks open earlier on school breaks and fill up fast, so book a time slot if the park offers one.

Trampoline classes

If your child wants to learn tricks rather than just jump, look at a tumbling gym. Tumbling Boulders in Henderson, NV teaches power tumbling, trampoline and double-mini from 18 months up, with drop-in classes at $30. The gymnastics guide lists more gyms with tumbling and trampoline classes.
