About the Program
The Rock Center for Dance on South Maryland Parkway in Las Vegas teaches dance from 18 months through the teen years, with adult classes too. Classes are grouped as First Steps (18 months to 5 years), Primary (ages 6 to 8), Youth (ages 8 to 12) and Teen (13 and up).
The youngest dancers start in Dance With Me, an 18 to 36 month class where a parent or caregiver dances alongside. At ages 3 to 4 there is PreDance and PreBallet, and at ages 4 to 5 the studio splits into ComboROCK, BalletROCK, TumbleROCK and Hip Hop ROCK, so a child can try one style or several. Primary dancers (ages 6 to 8) choose from ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap and acro, and Breaking opens at age 6. Older levels add contemporary and movement, and pointe comes only with faculty approval.
Placement depends on age, physical development and past training, and the studio says students can stay in one level for 2 to 3 years, so moving up is not automatic. New families book a first class by email, phone or in person. Ask about tuition when you call.
Founder Quinn Callahan opened the studio in 2009. Its S.E.E.D. Program, a 501c3 since 2023, sponsors dance training for children from families with financial hardship.
