About the Program

Nevada Youth Sports Center is the indoor training home of Nevada Youth Sports (NYS), at 6370 Pioneer Way, Suites 112-113, in Las Vegas. NYS has run youth sports in Southern Nevada since 1998 and says it serves around 15,000 families a year. The center covers volleyball, basketball, cheerleading and futsal.

The building has Mondo courts, air conditioning, court cameras and a mezzanine for watching, which matters in a Las Vegas summer. Programs include NYS team practices, practice then play clinics, instructor led trainings, a membership open gym, family athletics and day camps. Newer instructor led programs for youth and families include Paddle & Play, Serve & Play, and Club/Elite Tryout Prep.

Strength and conditioning classes run for youth through adult athletes, and parents can drop off a child and take an adult class at the same time. Courts can also be rented short term or long term for team practice or private training.

Call 702-454-7863 or email Jane@nysnevada.com to ask about ages and prices for the program that fits your child.

First Visit Guide

What most youth sports programs expect. Confirm the details with Nevada Youth Sports Center before you go.

What to bring

  • Water, and then more water. In this valley the heat decides practice more than the coach does from May through September.
  • Athletic clothes, sunscreen, and a hat for outdoor fields
  • Sport basics if you own them. Lots of intro programs lend gear for trials, so ask before buying.

Before you go

  • Confirm the exact field or court. The big parks have a dozen and the 215 traffic doesn't forgive a wrong guess.
  • Summer schedules shift to early evening for the heat. Check the seasonal calendar.
  • Day one usually has paperwork and team assignment, so come early.

The first visit

Expect drills and small-sided play. Leagues group by birth year. Before you commit, ask how many practices there are per game and where the games actually get played, because home field can mean Henderson one week and North Las Vegas the next.

For sensory-sensitive kids

Whistles and sideline noise are the hard part. Ask about clinic-style sessions that are skills only, with no game crowd, as a first step.
