About the Program

DISTRCT ARTS on W. Tropicana Ave in Las Vegas teaches kids dance in ballet, hip hop, jazz, contemporary and breaking, starting with a Twinkle Toes Combo class for ages 3 to 6 that mixes ballet, jazz and acro. For older kids, ask the studio which class fits your child's age and level.

Breaking classes run with the Zoologic Breaking program at 2 levels, Breaking Basics and Training Camp, and the studio hosts breaking battles and community workshops during the year.

Costs start with an annual registration fee of $50 per student or $80 per family, renewed each August. Monthly tuition is charged by autopay on the 1st, with a $25 late fee on the 5th; ask the studio for the monthly rate for your child's class. Tuition covers the whole season, including dress rehearsals and 2 recital show dates, so it is not reduced for holidays or missed classes. A third class and each one after it get 20% off. Private lessons cost $45 for 30 minutes or $80 per hour.

Canceling takes 30 days' written notice from the 1st of the month. New families can claim a free class through the studio website before signing up.

First Visit Guide

What most art studios expect. Confirm the details with Distrct Arts before you go.

What to bring

  • Clothes that can get messy. Studios supply the materials for almost every kids class.
  • Water bottle

Before you go

  • Ask whether the class is drop-in or a multi-week session.
  • At paint-your-own pottery places, check how pricing works (usually the piece plus a studio fee) and when fired pieces come back.

The first visit

Classes are project-based, so your child starts or finishes something to take home on day one. Teachers scale the same project up or down by age.

For sensory-sensitive kids

Art studios flex better than almost any other activity. Ask about quieter tables, swaps for textures your child hates (wet clay is a common one), and smaller class caps.
