About the Program
Seedling Theatre Company on American Pacific Drive in Henderson teaches musical theatre, acting, voice and dance to kids from age 4 through the teen years. Owners Matt and Christine Hanchey run the studio as its artistic directors.
The musical theatre classes are grouped by age, one class a week: Sprouts for ages 4 to 5, Juniors for ages 6 to 8, then Ovation (ages 7 to 10), Spotlight (ages 8 to 10), Acclamation (ages 9 to 12) and Center Stage (ages 10 to 12); check the current semester page for days and times. Teens 11 to 18 can pick a Monday, Tuesday or Thursday class, and the Showcase class for ages 10 to 18 is cast by audition, so register for a backup class too. The class schedules end in dress rehearsals and a show.
Kids who would rather not sing can take the Juniors acting class for ages 8 to 13. Vocal performance runs for ages 8 to 12 and 13 to 18, Intro to Dance for ages 8 to 18 is technique only with no show, and teens 11 to 18 can try costume design.
The studio also runs summer camps in singing, acting, improv, movie making and dance. Call Christine at (702) 738-6022 for tuition.
