About the Program
AquaMermaid is a mermaid entertainment company with performers in Las Vegas, and families here use it two ways: lessons in a tail, or a mermaid guest at a pool party.
Private mermaid swimming lessons are for ages 7 and up. A session costs $250 an hour with a mermaid instructor and covers up to 5 swimmers, so it makes sense as a small group outing with friends. The instructor comes to your pool, or you can use the partner pool, the Municipal Pool at 431 E Bonanza Rd, about 10 minutes from Fremont Street. Tails are $100 each to buy, or kids can bring their own. For children under 7, the company suggests booking a performer instead of a lesson.
Party bookings are also $250 an hour, in blocks of 1, 1.5 or 2 hours or longer. The mermaid swims, plays games, tells stories and poses for photos at a home pool or hotel. The company suggests 5 to 10 children per performer, so a bigger guest list may need two. Performers are not lifeguards, and an adult has to watch the kids in the water the whole time.
Book at least 4 weeks ahead. Cancelling 7 or more days out gets a full refund, a change inside 48 hours to 7 days costs $100, and less than 48 hours is non-refundable.

First Visit Guide
What most swim schools expect. Confirm the details with AquaMermaid Las Vegas before you go.
What to bring
- Swimsuit, worn under regular clothes so changing goes faster
- Towel and a full set of dry clothes
- Swim diaper if your child isn't potty trained yet. Many schools want two layers, so ask.
- Hair tie or swim cap for long hair
- Goggles only if the school says yes. A lot of them teach beginners without goggles on purpose, so kids get used to water on their face.
Before you go
- Get there 10 to 15 minutes early for check-in and the changing room shuffle.
- Keep snacks light and at least 30 minutes before water time.
- Ask where parents wait. Some schools have viewing windows, some want you on the deck for baby classes.
The first visit
The first lesson usually starts with a quick skill check so the teacher can place your child in the right level. Lesson one is about getting comfortable, not swimming laps. Indoor pools run all year here, which matters when it's 105 outside in July.
For sensory-sensitive kids
Pools echo and they're loud. Ask which lesson times are quietest, and whether you can stop by just to watch a class before your child's first one.
