About the Program
Clark County Day Camp is run by Clark County Parks and Recreation at community and recreation centers around the valley, including Desert Breeze Community Center on Spring Mountain Road, Helen Meyer, Hollywood, Paradise, Bob Price, Silverado Ranch and Walnut. It covers school breaks and teacher staff development days, not only summer, which makes it a useful backup when school is out and you still have work.
Camp is for ages 6 to 12, and a 5-year-old may be accepted after finishing kindergarten. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 6 PM. Days are a mix of arts and crafts, sports and games, gym time, field trips, skits, movies and science projects.
The county lists the price at $21 per day, per child, paid in full to hold a spot, and it accepts LVUL Early Childhood Connections. Kids bring their own lunch plus two snacks that do not need heating or refrigeration. Pickups after 6:01 PM cost $5 for every ten minutes, and refunds need notice by close of business on Wednesday the week before.
Spots go first come, first served, and each center has its own registration form, so use the one for your center. Check the county site in spring for summer sign-up dates.
