About the Program
LVSA, short for Las Vegas Sports Academy, is a youth soccer club with its office on W. Cheyenne Ave in Las Vegas and teams from U5 through U18. Its program list also includes Juniors, Lil' Ballers, College Prep and a Henderson branch.
Training time grows with age. U5 and U6 players practice 60 minutes, 2 days a week, and U7 and U8 practice 75 minutes, 2 days a week. From U9 through U12, sessions run 90 minutes, 2 days a week and up to 3. U13 to U16 teams practice 90 minutes, 3 days a week and up to 4, and U17 and U18 sessions stretch to 120 minutes. Tryouts are held once a year for U11 to U18, and players land on A, B or C teams by level, with moves between teams during the transfer windows.
Teams play in leagues including the Nevada South Youth Soccer League, the Silver State Girls Soccer League and the Far West Regional Soccer League. The club aims for roughly equal playing time at younger ages, but at State and National Cup only the starting eleven may play most of each game, so ask the coach how that works for your child's team. Players wear Adidas uniforms and need shin guards at every match. The office takes calls Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 1 PM at (702) 878-3644.

First Visit Guide
What most youth sports programs expect. Confirm the details with LVSA before you go.
What to bring
- Water, and then more water. In this valley the heat decides practice more than the coach does from May through September.
- Athletic clothes, sunscreen, and a hat for outdoor fields
- Sport basics if you own them. Lots of intro programs lend gear for trials, so ask before buying.
Before you go
- Confirm the exact field or court. The big parks have a dozen and the 215 traffic doesn't forgive a wrong guess.
- Summer schedules shift to early evening for the heat. Check the seasonal calendar.
- Day one usually has paperwork and team assignment, so come early.
The first visit
Expect drills and small-sided play. Leagues group by birth year. Before you commit, ask how many practices there are per game and where the games actually get played, because home field can mean Henderson one week and North Las Vegas the next.
For sensory-sensitive kids
Whistles and sideline noise are the hard part. Ask about clinic-style sessions that are skills only, with no game crowd, as a first step.
