About the Program
P2L Playhouse is a preschool on W Skye Canyon Park Drive in the far northwest valley (89166), serving Skye Canyon and nearby neighborhoods. It takes children ages 2 to 5 and uses play-based learning and performing arts to get kids ready for kindergarten.
The school says its program goes past the Nevada Pre-K standards. In practice that means science, language and art woven into hands-on play. For military families, P2L is an enrolled provider for two fee assistance programs, Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood and Child Care Aware of America, which can lower the cost if you qualify.
The enrollment path is simple: call 702-515-1430 or email, book a tour, pick a start date, then fill out paperwork. On the tour, ask about tuition, the daily schedule, whether there is a half-day option, and how many kids are in the 2 year old room.

First Visit Guide
What most preschools and child care centers expect. Confirm the details with P2L Playhouse before you go.
What to bring
- Your question list for the tour: ratios, teacher tenure, daily schedule, discipline approach, meals, naps, potty-training policy
- Immunization records if you're ready to apply
Before you go
- Tour during program hours so you see a real classroom in motion, not an empty one after pickup.
- Nevada licenses child care centers. Ask to see the license and the latest inspection report. It's public record and good programs hand it over without blinking.
- Ask about the waitlist. Popular rooms in Summerlin and Henderson fill by season.
The first visit
After enrolling, expect a gradual start (half days the first week), a supplies list (diapers, wipes, spare clothes, nap items), and a daily-report app.
For sensory-sensitive kids
Ask how the room handles transitions. Visual schedules and a warning before cleanup are good signs, and so is a quiet corner. Programs that do this well answer the question instantly.
