About the Program

The Community Healing Garden sits at 1015 S. Casino Center Blvd. in downtown Las Vegas. It is a memorial, not a play park. The city and volunteers built it in four days after the Oct. 1, 2017 shooting at the Route 91 Harvest festival, and it opened on Oct. 6, 2017.

Inside you will find a wall of remembrance, a grove of trees, flowers, paver walkways and benches. In the center is the tree of life, an oak in a heart-shaped planter covered in tiles made by families, survivors and neighbors. It is open 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

This is a place for a quiet walk and a real conversation, so it fits older kids who are ready to talk about what happened here. Go in calm and slow, and let them read the tiles. The city holds a remembrance ceremony at the garden every year.
