About the Program

The Center for Child and Family Development is a pediatric neuropsychology practice on East Warm Springs Road. Its focus is testing. The doctors evaluate children between 2 ½ and 17 years old and write up a diagnosis and next steps. Families come in with questions about autism, ADHD, learning disorders, developmental delays, communication disorders, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, OCD, behavior concerns or oppositional defiant disorder. The practice also tests for giftedness.

An evaluation starts with a parent interview about your child's history and development. Then comes the testing itself, followed by a written report with the findings and treatment recommendations, and a feedback session where parents go over the results and ask questions. With a signed release, the doctors will share the results with your pediatrician, teacher or therapists if you ask.

The doctors are Nicole Ann Cavenagh, Ph.D., and Deva M. Dorris, Psy.D. The doctors see a limited number of patients each week, so expect to plan ahead. The office is open Monday to Thursday by appointment only.

Have your insurance card handy when you book, and ask whether your plan covers the evaluation. Call 702.912.5848 to start, and fill out the Intake Form and Child History forms on the site.
