About the Program
Odin's Halls Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Paradise is the central Las Vegas branch of a BJJ gym on East Flamingo Road, with kids classes starting at ages 4 and up. Odin's Halls began on the north side in 2018 under Steve Ficca, and this location opened in September of 2025 with head coach Brigham Dorrity, the first brown belt the gym developed on its own mats.
Kids train on Monday and Tuesday afternoons on the posted schedule. A beginner class for ages 4 and up runs 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by an all-ages kids class from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Monday is Gi (the traditional uniform) and Tuesday is No Gi, and teens can move up to the adult classes from age 13. The kids curriculum, called Wolfpack 64, teaches 64 core techniques through drills and games, and coaches want kids asking questions and trying moves their own way rather than standing silently in line.
Outside class there are pizza parties, team BBQs and report card contests. New students get a free 7 day trial, so a child can try both a Gi and a No Gi class in one week. Call (702) 327-7258 to ask about membership prices.

First Visit Guide
What most martial arts schools expect. Confirm the details with Odin's Halls Brazilian Jiu Jitsu - Paradise before you go.
What to bring
- A t-shirt and shorts or joggers. You don't need a uniform for a trial class. Schools sell or include one when you sign up.
- Water bottle
- Shoes that slip off easily, since everyone is barefoot on the mat
Before you go
- Trim fingernails and toenails. It's a mat rule almost everywhere.
- Leave the jewelry at home.
- Arrive 10 minutes early so your child can watch the class before theirs and see how it works.
The first visit
Most dojos run a free or cheap trial. Expect bowing in, warm-ups, and basic stances. Teachers see first-timers every week and will put your child at the back where they can copy the older kids.
For sensory-sensitive kids
Ask about class size and whether there's a slower intro class. The line-up-and-bow structure is the same every single class, and that predictability is exactly why a lot of kids with ADHD or autism end up loving martial arts once it's familiar.
