About the Program
Gracie Jiu Jitsu Las Vegas teaches Brazilian jiu-jitsu at its Charleston academy in Las Vegas, with kids classes split into Ages 4-8 and Ages 9-13. The kids program centers on self-defense along with confidence, discipline and respect.
On the Charleston schedule, the younger group trains from 4:00 to 5:00pm and the older group right after, from 5:00 to 6:00pm. Each age group has a regular class and a NO GI version, which trains without the traditional uniform. A morning class for Kids All Ages runs from 9:00 to 10:00am. The school says every program, kids classes included, is set up for beginners, so a child with no experience can start in the regular class.
The head instructor, Mica Cipili, is a 6th degree black belt who trained under Pedro Sauer and Rickson Gracie. The academy also has a children's competition team, and private lessons are offered for one-on-one work. There is a second location in Henderson, so make sure you book at the right one.
