About the Program
Rhodes Ranch Golf Club in Las Vegas runs The Academy at Rhodes, where juniors can book private half-hour golf lessons. Ask what ages the junior lessons cover when you call.
A single junior lesson is $60, a 5 Lesson Pack is $250 and an 8 Lesson Pack is $400. Adult lessons of the same length are $75 each, handy if a parent wants to learn too. Hour-long sessions can be arranged with the instructor.
Teaching is through JJ Golf Academy, led by Jeff Jung, a Korean Professional Golf Association member who coaches in Korean and English. Eric Meek, a former U.S. Amateur Champion, and his son Cameron Meek are also on the team, and the academy takes students from first-timers to tour players.
Between lessons, the club has a covered driving range with shaded bays and lights, so practice can move to the evening when the summer heat is at its worst. The course opened in 1997 and was designed by Ted Robinson Sr. The academy page also points to junior programs; use its contact form or call (702) 740-4114 for details.

First Visit Guide
What most junior golf programs expect. Confirm the details with Rhodes Ranch Golf Club before you go.
What to bring
- Sneakers. Juniors don't need golf shoes to start.
- Hat, sunscreen, water
- Clubs only if you own junior-length ones. Programs and ranges usually lend junior sets, so ask first.
Before you go
- Check the dress code. Some courses still want a collared shirt, even on juniors.
- In the cooler months when everyone remembers golf exists, book range and clinic times ahead.
The first visit
Junior clinics start on the range with grip and stance, then short game. Kids don't play actual holes for a while, and that's normal.
For sensory-sensitive kids
Golf is quiet, spread out, and moves at your own pace, which makes it a genuinely good landing spot for kids who find team sports loud. Early morning tee times are the calmest.
