About the Program
City National Arena is an ice arena on Pavilion Center Drive in Summerlin with a full ladder of skating and hockey for kids. The arena lists Learn to Skate, open skate, NHL Learn to Play, a house league, Jr. Vegas Golden Knights travel hockey and the Golden Edge figure skating program.
For a young hockey player, Lil Knights builds the skills to move into the house league. Kids skate twice a week: a weeknight session on skating, puck handling, passing and shooting, then Saturday 4v4 cross-ice games with goalies. It feeds into the house league.
Golden Edge is for figure skaters working on Basic 5 of Learn to Skate up to Pre Preliminary who are not ready for full private lessons. The posted session is 8 classes for $265, or $40 to drop in, plus a required $50 Aspire membership. Ask Carolyn Mortenson at cmortenson@vegasgoldenknights.com when enrollment for the next session opens. Skaters wear running shoes for the weekly off-ice class.
Grab pizza at MacKenzie River Pizza inside the building after a session.
