About the Program
The Center on South Maryland Parkway in Las Vegas runs youth and family programs for LGBTQ+ and questioning kids, from age 12 and under up through teens ages 13 to 17 and young adults ages 18 to 24.
For teens, Qvolution meets Tuesdays from 4:00 to 5:30 PM with games, crafts, history talks and skill-building, and a Dungeons & Dragons group for ages 13 to 24 plays Fridays from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. A gender neutral Scouts troop for ages 11 to 17 meets monthly, once at The Center and once off-site. A free sex education class for ages 13 to 17 runs the last Wednesday of every month from 3 to 5 PM.
Families have options too. Pivot is a 6-week program on Wednesdays, held four times a year, where teens and caregivers meet in separate rooms with peer mentors and therapists and finish with a graduation. Youth & Family Therapeutic Support meets Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the basement at 921 S Las Vegas Blvd. Younger kids ages 12 and under can join Qkids with a caregiver twice a month; times are shared after a family screening. The lobby is open Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 7 PM, if you want to stop in and ask.
