About the Program
Spring Valley Little League runs youth baseball and softball in Las Vegas, with fields at Desert Breeze, Potosi, Paul Meyer and Red Ridge parks. Kids are placed by league age, which is a player's age on August 31 of each season year.
Every player gets a team. Kids league age 8 and up who want the AA, AAA or Majors divisions go through an evaluation first, where coaches look at throwing, catching, fielding, hitting and base running, but it is not a tryout. Once teams form, expect 2 to 3 practices a week at Desert Breeze or Potosi Parks, with days and times set by each coach. A Division and older play at least 12 regular season games.
Registration includes a jersey and hat, plus pants for Tee Ball. Families supply a glove, a USA-stamped bat, a water bottle with the player's name on it, and pants and socks in the color the team picks. Molded cleats are required above Tee Ball, where tennis shoes are fine, and only Juniors and Seniors may wear metal spikes.
Opening Day brings a player parade and a basket raffle. Registration opens ahead of each season, so check the site for dates or call 901-466-6126.

First Visit Guide
What most youth sports programs expect. Confirm the details with Spring Valley Little League before you go.
What to bring
- Water, and then more water. In this valley the heat decides practice more than the coach does from May through September.
- Athletic clothes, sunscreen, and a hat for outdoor fields
- Sport basics if you own them. Lots of intro programs lend gear for trials, so ask before buying.
Before you go
- Confirm the exact field or court. The big parks have a dozen and the 215 traffic doesn't forgive a wrong guess.
- Summer schedules shift to early evening for the heat. Check the seasonal calendar.
- Day one usually has paperwork and team assignment, so come early.
The first visit
Expect drills and small-sided play. Leagues group by birth year. Before you commit, ask how many practices there are per game and where the games actually get played, because home field can mean Henderson one week and North Las Vegas the next.
For sensory-sensitive kids
Whistles and sideline noise are the hard part. Ask about clinic-style sessions that are skills only, with no game crowd, as a first step.
