About the Program

FEAT of Southern Nevada (Families for Effective Autism Treatment) is a nonprofit on West Arby Avenue in Las Vegas for families of children with autism spectrum disorder. It is a regional chapter of a national group of parents and professionals, and membership is free.

Support meetings run through the year in English and Spanish, in person and online, with separate groups for newly diagnosed families, siblings, dads, Spanish speakers and adults. FEAT also holds parent trainings and an annual conference that cover the road from diagnosis to adult support.

Two scholarship programs serve families in financial need. The advocacy scholarship puts $100 toward a special needs advocate who can review your child's IEP, attend school district meetings and help through the whole IEP process; if the scholarship does not apply, FEAT can refer you to an advocate. The iPad 4 U program provides a communication device, a communication app and up to 10 hours of training for people who are nonverbal or have limited speech.

For the fun side, FEAT lists pool parties, holiday parties, Parents Night Out and Spectrum Connects, plus family events such as The A Games and Art 4 Autism. Check the events calendar for dates, and email info@featsonv.org with questions.
