About the Program
Union Village KinderCare on Vitality Dr in Henderson is a child care center for ages 6 weeks to 5 years, and it also lists a before- and after-school program. The center sits just off Interstate 11 and is open 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
Classrooms follow your child's age: infants from 6 weeks to 1 year, toddlers 1 to 2, Discovery Preschool for 2 to 3, Preschool for 3 to 4, and Prekindergarten for 4 to 5, where kids work on language, math, science and Spanish. Small-group enrichment classes run alongside, including Phonics Adventures for ages 2 to 4, Music Explorers for the same age group, and Cooking Academy for ages 3 to 12.
Your child does not need to be potty trained to start, since teachers change diapers until a child shows interest in toilet learning. The center provides meals and snacks planned by a registered dietitian, with a vegetarian option.
Full-time and part-time schedules are both offered, and drop-in care may be possible. For tuition and openings, call (725) 302-2201, and ask about sibling discounts and the subsidies the center takes, including state programs, military support and employer benefits.
Center Director Kashmir Shaffer has been with KinderCare since 2017 and has more than 20 years in early childhood education. The center says it is accredited by NAEYC.
