About the Program
Red Mountain Music Company is a nonprofit singing group based in Boulder City, and its Red Mountain Youth Choir takes kids ages 8 to 15. It is a 35-member choir with kids from all over the Las Vegas Valley, and nobody has to audition to join.
The group started in 1998 as one community choir. It now also runs the Red Mountain Choir, a 100-member choir, the Red Mountain Music Theatre, and a summer theatre camp where young performers work on voice, dance and acting. Piano and voice lessons are offered too.
The office keeps weekday hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 702-294-0043 to ask when the youth choir rehearses, what it costs and when the camp opens.

First Visit Guide
What most music schools expect. Confirm the details with Red Mountain Music Co before you go.
What to bring
- The instrument if you already own one. Studios keep pianos and drum kits on site, so ask what's covered.
- Any music books from earlier lessons
- A notebook for practice notes
Before you go
- Don't buy an instrument before lesson one. Teachers meet your child first, then tell you whether to rent or buy and what size.
- Ask about the makeup and cancellation policy. It varies a lot between studios.
The first visit
The first lesson is a meet-and-play. The teacher checks interest, ear, and attention span, then suggests a lesson length. Thirty minutes is normal for young beginners.
For sensory-sensitive kids
One-on-one lessons are naturally calm. If volume worries you with drums or brass, ask about headphones or electronic versions.
