About the Program
The Nevada Chapter of Postpartum Support International, known as PSI-NV, is a statewide volunteer group that serves Las Vegas parents dealing with depression, anxiety or other mood struggles during pregnancy and after a baby arrives. It is a support and referral network, not a clinic, and it can be a first call for a new mom or dad who is not sure where to start.
The PSI HelpLine at 1-800-944-4773 takes calls and texts, with a Spanish option (press 1), and Spanish texts go to 971-203-7773. A form on the chapter page connects you with a local PSI volunteer. PSI also runs online support groups, a chat with an expert and a peer mentor program, and keeps an online directory of perinatal mental health professionals, which helps when you need a therapist who works with new parents.
The National Maternal Mental Health Hotline at 1-833-943-5746 is free, confidential and open around the clock by call or text in English and Spanish, with interpreters in 60 languages. PSI itself does not handle crises, so in an emergency call 988 or text HOME to 741741.
Once a year the chapter joins The Climb, a walk where survivors, supporters and providers meet. Survivors and others who want to give back can volunteer through the chapter.
