Serenity Birth Center on South Jones Blvd is a freestanding birth center run by midwife April Clyde for healthy women expecting a low-risk pregnancy, and it hosts classes for expecting and new parents. The center describes itself as Nevada's only state-licensed and nationally accredited freestanding birth center.
The main paid class is Earthside Childbirth Classes, a 4 week series on childbirth and breastfeeding that meets the first four Tuesdays of the month from 5pm to 7pm at Herbally Grounded and costs $325. If you want something lighter, Choices In Childbirth is a free refresher class at SkyLuna on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:00 pm, with topics that rotate between pregnancy, birth, postpartum and newborns.
