About the Program

Experience Courage Therapy and Consulting, also called Las Vegas Play Therapy, is therapist Janet Nordine's practice inside The Center for Connection on S Rainbow Boulevard in Las Vegas. She sees children, teens, adults and whole families, and her site lists her as a marriage and family therapist and a play therapist supervisor (LMFT, RPT-S).

With kids, sessions use play as much as talk: play therapy, sandtray, expressive arts, LEGO, EMDR, Synergetic Play Therapy and Theraplay ideas, chosen to fit the child. Families come in for trauma, anxiety, attachment and relationship struggles, grief and adoption, which is a focus of the practice; Janet says she is an adult adoptee herself. Parents are part of the work, and she helps caregivers look at what may sit underneath a child's behavior. The practice describes its care as LGBTQIA+ affirming.

The standard fee is $165 for a 50-minute session. The practice is mostly private pay but takes Aetna, fee-for-service Nevada Medicaid and some UMR, Cigna and United Health Care plans, so call to check yours. A few reduced-fee spots open up when available. You can ask in writing for a Good Faith Estimate of costs, and the client page has a child intake form to fill out before the first visit.
