About the Program

Clark County Family Services runs a catalog of parenting classes that cost nothing and are open to anyone in the community. Most are a series lasting 6 or 8 weeks, so treat each one as a real commitment.

The classes are sorted by your child's age, which makes picking easy. Expecting or brand new parents start with Baby Care. Nurturing Parents covers ages 0 to 4, ABCs of Parenting covers ages 5 to 10, and Staying Connected With Your Teen brings parents and teens ages 11 to 17 to the same table. Triple P, an 8-week class for parents of children ages 2 to 11, also has a Teen Triple P version, a Fear-Less Triple P track for parents of kids ages 6 to 14 who struggle with anxiety, and Stepping Stones Triple P for parents of children with a disability ages 2 to 12. Dads get their own 8-week Nurturing Fathers group.

If you want something lighter than a full series, the parent workshops are discussion groups, one for parents of teens 12 to 17 and one for parents of children 0 to 10.

Days and times are not printed on the page; they sit on the registration form. Call (702) 455-5295 with questions. A 6 or 8 week series can run into a CCSD school break, so check the dates before you sign up.
