Jovie of Las Vegas is the local office of a national nanny and babysitter agency, based on West Russell Road in the southwest valley. It places nannies and sitters with Las Vegas families rather than running a classroom, so it belongs on your list if you need help at home.

Nanny placements can be full-time, part-time, after school or as needed, and sitters can be booked for a single evening. The office also lists in-home care for families of children with special needs, hotel and vacation sitters for visitors, and on-site childcare for weddings, conferences and corporate events. Jovie's FAQ says event care covers newborns to age 17.

The process starts with a free consultation. According to Jovie, a nanny search usually takes 2 to 6 weeks and a sitter search up to a week, and families schedule sitters in the My Jovie app. Pricing is a placement fee plus an hourly wage rate, quoted per family, and billing comes every two weeks. Caregivers are W-2 employees of the agency. If a nanny placement ends within the first 12 weeks, Jovie runs a replacement search, though placement fees are not refunded.
