About the Program
Milestone Martial Arts at 6255 W Maule Ave, Suite 150, in Las Vegas (89118) teaches kids from toddlers 2 and 3 up to teens 13 to 16 a mix of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo and Muay Thai. Most of the mat time is on grappling. Groups are split by age: Mini Champions Toddler & Me for 2 and 3, Tiny Champions 4 to 6, Little Champions 7 to 9, Junior Champions 10 to 12, and Teens 13 to 16.
The kids program runs in three 15-week seasons a year, with enrollment in April, August and December, so new students start together. There are no trial classes. Families can watch a class or two first, and the school says it refunds the first 3 weeks if your child doesn't like it, not counting the uniform.
For Tiny Champions through Teens, the cost is $51 a week for the 15-week commitment or $765 paid in full, plus a uniform kit ($199 on the weekly plan, $109 when paid in full) and the required $75 yearly United States Judo Association insurance. Minis pay $35 a week or $450 paid in full, plus a $50 uniform kit.
Sample times: Tiny Champions Level 1 meets Fridays at 4 pm and Saturdays at 9 am, Little Champions Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 pm, and Junior Champions Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30 pm.
