About the Program
Bunker Dance Center on West Ann Road in northwest Las Vegas has taught dance since 1994, when Kathy Bunker opened it. Classes start with toddlers: Dance With Me pairs little ones with a parent, Terrific Twos is the first class on their own, and Musical Movement, combo classes and Fairytale Ballet build from there. Older students choose from ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and lyrical, hip-hop and ballroom, plus pom, musical theatre and tumbling or acro, and the studio has competition teams.
The main season runs ten months, August through May, and ends with recitals in Reynolds Hall at the Smith Center. A shorter Summer Session covers six weeks in June and July. Tuition is one flat monthly price averaged over the season, with no make-up classes, plus a yearly registration fee and a per-family recital fee that does not include tickets. Card payments carry a 3% surcharge, and American Express is not accepted. Call the front desk at 702-878-7870 for current prices.
Pickup rules depend on grade. Parents of kids from 2 years old through kindergarten stay in the building during class, early elementary dancers are picked up inside the studio, and older students may be dropped at the curb. Parents watch from viewing corridors, not inside the studios.

First Visit Guide
What most dance studios expect. Confirm the details with Bunker Dance Center before you go.
What to bring
- Leggings or shorts with a fitted top, nothing your child can trip on
- Bare feet or socks are fine for a trial. Don't buy ballet, tap, or jazz shoes until the studio tells you the exact style and color they want.
- Hair pulled back, water bottle
Before you go
- Ask about the dress code before you buy anything.
- Come early for the waiver and to find the right studio room.
- Ask how parents watch. Some studios have windows, some have lobby monitors, some are drop-off only.
The first visit
A trial class is normal: warm-up, moving across the floor, and a short routine. The recital and costume fees come months later. Ask when those decisions are due so nothing surprises you.
For sensory-sensitive kids
Mirrors, music, and a room full of kids is a lot at once. Ask if your child can watch a class first, and whether the studio runs smaller classes.
