IEP Defenders

IEP Defenders is a special education law firm on W Park Run Dr in Las Vegas for families of children with disabilities whose school is not following through on an IEP. Its attorneys take on disputes over evaluations, services, placement and discipline, and they use special education due process when that is the right step. One thing to know up front: the firm says it does not represent families at IEP meetings themselves.

The firm was started by Sam Castor and David Gardner. David came to the work after trying to advocate for his own child in the IEP process while already working as an attorney. It began with families in Clark County and has since expanded into Arizona, California, Utah, and New York.

On cost, the site says many qualifying due process cases carry no upfront attorney fees, while some, such as tuition-reimbursement cases, use other fee arrangements. The firm explains the scope of the work and the fees before a family commits.
