About the Program

Hemenway Valley Park is a Boulder City park of about 10 acres at 401 Ville Drive, with playground equipment, basketball courts and a view of Lake Mead. The park is also known for bighorn sheep, which come down from the mountains to drink and graze there. The city runs a RamCam, so you can check for sheep from home before you head over.

Besides the playground, the park has gazebos, picnic shelters, basketball courts and horseshoe pits. Two lighted tennis courts and two lighted softball fields sit in the flood control basin next to the park. A nature trail just northeast of the park has benches and signs to read along the path.

If the sheep are out, give them space and enjoy the view from a distance. In the summer heat, plan your visit for the morning or evening and bring water.
