About the Program

ISR Henderson is Gail Robinson's Infant Swimming Resource practice, teaching self rescue swimming to children 6 months to about 6 years old. Gail has lived in Henderson since 1998, holds a special education degree from Mississippi State and has been a certified ISR instructor since February 2008. The method is what makes it different from a Mommy and Me class: every lesson is private, no longer than 10 minutes, four or five days a week. Babies under 12 months learn to hold their breath and roll from face down to a back float and rest there; kids over 12 months learn the swim, float, swim sequence, and everyone repeats the skills in a swim diaper and then fully clothed. Most under 12 months finish in about five weeks and older kids in about seven, with refreshers recommended every six months until age 4.
